Where to place trolley jack

Some might want to correct me on this....rear jacking point 'on frame' - a couple of inches forward of door shut line close to right angled joint in frame into wheel opening........ - front jacking point about 6 inches forward of door front hinge line at strongest point where frame snakes around towards engine. Use an offcut of 6" or 4" x 2" timber between the trolley jack 'cup' and the frame...... remember that side section of frame is slightly angled (which will become more acute if you jack up one side......be careful and support frame with supports (and wooden blocks again).
Jacking under front crossmember is not recommended as it will possibly get a big dent in it and risk misalignment of steering gear etc. I use it myself but only with the support of a full length of 4" or 6" x 2 underneath and the jack lift point centered.
