British Motor Museum - Gaydon - on Sunday 1st May 2022
Banbury Road, Lighthorne Heath, Warwickshire, CV35 0BJ
Hello everyone,
My apologies, this is rather a lengthy post as I have a lot of information to deliver to you.
I'm excited to present this important Event to you all. I'm really hoping to get as many Corvettes from all Regions to this fabulous Event. It will be a fantastic opportunity to integrate our Regions and share our enthusiasm for our Corvettes with like-minded people, and we're so looking forward to meeting other members from our other Regions.
This is the second year this Event will have taken place. It was a huge success last year, this was due to the organisation and attention to detail by Barry, the previous Representative for the Central South Region.
Last year we had members attending from Regions from Central South, Central North, Western and Beds, Bucks, Northants and Cambs. This year we're hoping for a much larger presence and representation of Corvettes, with an influx of members from other Regions, all coming together in a centrally located Event at the British Motor Museum, to make a spectacular display of Corvettes. Our Corvettes will be parked adjacent to where the Historic Marathon Rally Cars will be parked.
We are honoured and excited to be sharing our Event on Sunday 1st May with fellow exhibitors, the Historic Marathon Rally Cars. They are celebrating their World Cup Rally 50th Anniversary of the 16,000 mile London to Mexico World Cup Rally. (Currently, 75 Rally Cars have entered to exhibit).
Historic Marathon Rally Group - www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk
If you're intrigued about the Historic Marathon Rally Cars, take a look at the websites for more information. Basically, the event was held in 1970, 106 teams entered the rally, London to Mexico, and just 23 cars finished six weeks later. The Event aims to reunite as many of the original cars and crew as possible. There are interviews, films, talks and a large display of memorabilia.
It promises to be a great day out. There will certainly be plenty to look at when we're not swooning over our own impressive display of Corvettes. Not only are there the Historic Marathon Rally Cars, but an opportunity to explore the British Motor Museum which has the World's largest collection of Historic British cars encompassing the classic, vintage and veteran eras, together with displays and an abundance of artefacts, many of which have not been seen before.
Please support this important Event if you can. The more Corvettes there are, the more impressive the display and demonstrates collectively, just how stunning our Corvettes are. Hopefully, the success and response to this Event could result in it becoming an Annual Event.
Please put this date in your diary! Come and represent your Region and please tell other Vette heads in your Region that you're attending. This is an Event not to be missed, and we really do need your support to make this a well-attended and memorable Event for everyone.
