Big block corvette’s from the mid sixties to the mid seventies have become “legendary “, along with all the other big block cars of the era ( cars over 400ci were classed as big blocks)
I am amused when the Chrysler 383ci is now called a big block .
Their power, torque and Thirst was legendary. In most cases nowadays they are dinosaurs.
Lovely to have as a piece of history and nostalgia. I know many guys in the US who use their BIg block cars very sparingly nowadays due to fuel costs.

Mine each do maybe 8 - 10 MPG around town but the smile is worth it

Extreme Sarcasm on my part.......relating to big block powered cars......
the reality unfortunately is that all classic vehicles (even the smallest engined ones) are becoming even more increasingly expensive to use...... so whether SBC or BBC powered we just have to "suck it up"............
there is an old saying that goes "you might as well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb"

At least both you guys have big block corvette’s. You’re living the dream.
until fuelling up time. A guy recently contacted me to invite my red '66 454 to display at Oulton Park Gold Cup Concour de Elite and while chatting he said he would like a C3 as well so I dusted off the '71 and took both. My '66 427 was heading for our club stand so with help from some mates whose Corvettes were too new (nothing newer than 2005 allowed) we took all three. An expensive fuel day but a great day anyway..
