Morning Funchi, Yes, lovely car the '82 Collector's Edition. One of those cars you remember were you where when you first saw one in the flesh? I'll have two of those above '66 Coupes at £17,995 each please! Bargain too good to miss?? See that you are up to 4k views with this thread. How about what may be the "ultimate" challenge for your photo collection? Have you any photos of a "Geiger" wide bodied C4 taken in the UK? There was a black one that attended some CCCUK events "way back."

Hi Chevrolet (y) (Have you any photos of a "Geiger" wide bodied C4 taken in the UK? There was a black one that attended some CCCUK events)
Chevrolet ("ultimate" challenge for your photo collection?).

No I have no photos of this car and I have not seen it in the flesh.

I may have seen this car if it was featured in any of the magazines below, this is where any knowledge I have of Corvettes comes from.

Corvette Annual 5 issues, I do not recall these at all.
Corvette News 3 issues, I do not recall these at all.
Corvette Quarterly 5 issues, I do not recall these at all.
Keepin Track of Vettes my first and last issue, I cannot remember if my last issue was also there’s.
Corvette Fever my first and last issue, Corvette Fever merged with Vette.
Vette my first and last issue.

And then there was none, well not quite, at the London Classic Car Show Olympia as you may have read before, I only had a very short time to talk with the CCCUK representative on the club stand, and told him I was very disappointed that Vette magazine had just closed its covers.
I was very pleased when he informed me there was still a magazine called Corvette, I have researched this magazine and they publish 8 issues a year.
I am very disappointed that I have used their internal email system and no reply, and this was long before this terrible world virus.

Hi Daytona Vette, curious if you can recognise where the photos of this lovely C2 Corvette were taken, I think you will work it out.

I have no way of telling what year these photos were taken, but about 35/40 years ago, the price looks a lot of money £17995 even then, and the Rover looks to be just above £200View attachment 5045View attachment 50460.
Hi Funchi
Pics taken outside of a Dealer's home / business, there is another Vette in front of the C2

Thanks Funchi, Geigers from the company of the same name in Munich, Germany. So suspect not many/or any in the US? Wide bodykit probably just based on another US one anyway?

Plenty of US "Heavy Metal" on their YouTube website including Corvettes:

Great to see other peoples photos and history coming through.

Hi (Roscobbc name edited) (y) (Pics taken outside of a Dealer's home / business, there is another Vette in front of the C2) yes I know the other Corvette is there, but I don't have a clue why I don't seem to have taken photos of the other Corvette especially as it looks as if it could be a 1980 Corvette.

I know it's not easy but I thought your local knowledge may jog your memory of the location, very slow at typing so will post a longer post tomorrow with location etc. This would have been easy if I had put the correct name in sorry Daytona Vette.

Funchi I can not wait to see where the pic was taken, C2 looks like a 65 Big Block with side mount factory exhausts, looks like a Wrecker further down the street and the Commer / J4 van, for some reason is on the wrong side of the road, two Vettes, one for sale plus a Rover for sale, plus a Wrecker spells "Cars for Sale" in particular Vettes.

Funchi one of your pics of Mags mentions Nolan Adams - Many moons ago (Mid 80s) Nolan was over here in the UK, he stayed as a guest with Ray Groves of Corvette Kingdom, and Ray brought him down to the Post House at Great Bar, Birmingham, where Nolan shared his knowledge of Corvettes with a small group of us, I recall he showed us slides of numerous private collections of Vettes often numbering 10 or 20 Vettes and they were always pictured in a line some with the hoods down and some with the hoods up, hoods up were the Big Blocks- Interesting gentleman, expert, enthusiast and a sad loss for Corvette in general.

Seems to recall a black Geiger C4 up for sale on Ebay or in car mags 8/10 years ago.......

Yes, think I remember that one Ross. Very nice looking/low miles C4 on Ebay now (with old CCCUK sticker in rear window). Listed as a Geiger, but suspect that's just the Geiger supplied dealers sticker on the back?

The red 66 coupe with 67 wheels, Big block hood but no 427 Enblems on fender was for sale on A12
I am only learning, I want to learn more, you are the Master Frank - Apart from the wheels which I did not give much thought to, thinking they were standard issue, ie not the option alloy cast knock ons, I cheating, with the help of the Black Boook, put it at 65 because of the no Hood emblems - What identified it as a 66 and what if no option is taken, is the difference in in the standard wheels, are they not all the Rally type for 65, 66 and 67?

Always nice to see a lovely Vette when you are just driving down the road and not expecting it:
