Daytona Vette I think the Colin you maybe referring to could be Colin Shepard. I have posted photos of Colin chrome bumper XLT 2.
In the Scratchwood Service days Colin was the club historian a great bloke and a very good heavy plant mechanic and he worked near Junction 22 M25.
The club back then was very small so Russell, Colin Tracy, Keith, Roy Linda, John Sandra, Steve Jan, myself and many others all new each other, I also know Colin and Keith still do some business together on Corvette/American and probably other cars.
Santa Pod. KSB 3 I am 99% sure was purchased by Keith Betchi new and Keith still owns his 1980 Corvette, but not one careful owner

Bang on Funchi - Yes Colin Shepard, I could not remember his surname, he was at the Curry Meet with Keith at the previous NEC Event, yes so that is the Russell that had the lovely red C2 Coupe that he sprayed himself.

Hi Rosobbc this membership card was the last time I was a CCCUK member, time moves on Scratchwood services can’t be replicated and I have also found my first love again.
Driving my 2004 C5 Corvette is like any other Euro box just quicker, driving the TR6 is like wrestling a Crocodile and it smells the same as when I drove them to The White Bear and The Woodman Ongar about 44 years, the Black 1980 Corvette was more at home at The Retreat Chigwell.
I compare them this way, the C5 is like a beautiful girl friend and the TR6 a slut, and I best end it there before Mary Whitehouse gets involved.

I don't go back as far as you and Barry (Daytona Vette), but all the above were still key players when we first joined the club. Presumably we met? I think by the time I knew Colin well, he had moved on to the yellow Mid-Year that he then kept for a long time. The club grew very quickly during the early 90's and I think that took a few people by surprise! We were involved with the Kent group of the AAC in our early days, a super crowd, but initially Corvette owners in general we not well liked! I think probably the first event with CCCUK we really enjoyed was a trip to the Chelsea Cruise which I think started up at maybe the Ace Cafe, and involved a cruise down to one of the posh London Squares, before a blast over to Battersea - I remember we blocked the Kings Road so all the Corvettes could cross in convoy, then I hit 95mph on Battersea Bridge! David Posner and Gerry Smith were protagonists at the time, and a chap who ran an outfit called Route 66 over there in Essex somewhere......

Custom Maid one of our first 10 members David Moore had a business at the back of Custom Maid called Pipe Craft later moved to bigger premises, I remember he had a pipe bending machine that had the latest auto bending technology at the time, David had a nice Blue C2 vert with the reg 2 FLY, he had a few Vettes when I met him (for intrinsic detail his girlfriend had a particular wrist watch, an Omega De Ville Roy King special edition - I am not into watches but it was the female version of mine - A bit Bling now)
It was at Pipe Craft's new larger facility that I had a one off system for the Daytona fabricated, not stainless steel must have been too early and on that visit I saw my first C4 in reality and was taken for a ride in it, whilst an errand was being done - During the trip I was told it was a Customer's car - Jeff Beck
Hi Daytona Vette I wish you did not type so quickly , I am adding to my post very slowly, and bam a new post from you.
As for my TR6 not really I have only owned it for 2 years, it cost me quite a lot of money, and although it was a nice car when I purchased it, like all old cars it had a few problems which I have now sorted out.
Although it came with a new NOS block pistons and a replaced cylinder head it still had crankshaft end float, common in TR engines so I had the thrust washers replaced, the wiring was an abortion so with the help of a friend it has been rewired to a very high standard, the original back breaking Triumph seats have been replaced with a lovely pair of new cream releatherd MX5 seats a very common replacement, at the same time I replaced the gear box and hand brake tunnels an absolute bxxxxxd of a job.
To top all this of like most TR6's it was a soft-top car, I think they look great with a hardtop so I was very lucky to get one of the last original NOS hardtops and by the time I fitted it, it cost me about £2200/£2400, sounds like a lot of money but I think great value for money, where else can you get a 50 year old brand new hardtop.
My replacement MX5 seats for my TR6, they cost £550 the pair, and you had to supply an exchange set which cost me under £100

Pipecraft still exist (in Basildon) Tom Falconer eventually bought the Ex-Beck C4 (which I believe was an early ex-motor show car?) this was relatively recent - and he restored it.
In Kemp Road (Pipecrafts old premises) there is now Flowtech who also build custom exhausts too. Anyone remember American part supplier Competition Cars at Leytonstone (and Westcliffe - which reminds me of Americar in Southend - American car parts too) -

I remember Competition Cars, and purchased a few small maintenance parts from them.
Am I correct or not that South East Essex Corvettes were in Edmonton, don't know why they would be called that in Edmonton, if not what were they called. I know I went to look at a Corvette at that dealer in Edmonton.

Going back a bit further - Woolferace had a place underneath the Staples Corner flyover - and even earlier than that I would travel over to Kalvin Tyre company at Broxbourne for bit's and pieces. Not forgetting the breakers yards for Yankee motors at Heathrow, Blackwall Tunnel, Canning Town a bit later and a whole myriad of them in Suffolk and Norfolk.Roscobbc

No the above Greenwood Daytona is not mine
This one was owned by Chetin Ramsey who later changed his religion and subsequent name to ............... Mohamed
Believe it or not the Vette is a 74 - Chetin smashed the front and Ray Groves and Chris of Corvette Kingdom put the Daytona front end on and the rear wings and tail
For the Body paint and Compomotive split rim alloys he paid just over 30K (that was in the mid 80s)
It was at a much later date that it went back and had the rear deck and window changed to the Big Back Window
This Daytona was running a 454 LS7 the highest grossing crate engine available at the time from the Chevrolet High Performance Catalogue (descendant of the L88)
Problem was the compression was running at 12.25 to 1 and needed good pump gas to run at optimum.
Chetin obviously did business with Custom Maid, the time I went in there a gearbox was on a stand and his name had boldly been professionally engraved on the top of the box
I believe the Vette had languished in a front garden for many a year and has recently gone over the water to Greece I believe

No the Red Greenwood Daytona is not mine, I may be wrong but I think this one again mid to late 80s was built in Woolwich, has a magnolia interior and the fit and finish of the body panels at the time I saw it were very good, it was running a small block under the low rise hood
