Well all I know is in the mid 1960s and in high school living in city of Chicago
If I was caught in the school parking lot with this, I would have been beaten UP

And could have been shot if driving the downtown area streets !

I’ve just noticed the lettered tyres on that picture I posted of the 1995 corvette Indy pace car. It’s a official Chevrolet release photo, so probably factory fitted. I think they look pretty good. It’s not very often you see a C4 with lettered or whitewall tires on.

Imagine getting a flat tire with that, at night on the side of the road in city of LA Ca and no jack low enough to lift the car

Worse is, notice he has a NOS tank mounted in the hatch,
One hard launch and those inner fender edges would eat the sidewalls.

Very mid/late 1970’s style custom paintwork, along with the motor sticking out of the hood. Always hated that. Must be a terrible distraction when driving.

I know it was the late 70’s and the custom craze was full on, but I always thought that the Corvette in corvette summer was hideous. A real monstrosity.
