I must confess I'm not sure on Erlestoke Manor. I'm guessing its on long term hire. Seems to be getting a lot of use though as I see it often. That and the newly painted black 9351.

Just looked up the Erlestoke Manor Fund website . The EMF have always owned 7812 Erlestoke Manor since restoring it from scrap condition and I knew a lot of the guys well . It is on long term loan until December 2057 and 7802 Bradley Manor that they also own will arrive at WSR by end of this month and stay until November 2026 , so you will have plenty of Manor`s to admire down your way ! I think the EMF understandably want to see their locos used and earn much needed revenue on a miles run basis . The SVR just aren`t using them enough as they now pursue a `small loco` regular service to ease their financial issues which is great pity . Not like in my day when big locos reigned supreme !

That's a long term loan! In 30 odd years time I'll be retired and hopefully volunteering at the WSR.

As for Bradley, yeah I saw that one was coming down. So now doubt I'll see that at some point - probably the Spring Gala at start of May. Didn't know how long it was staying though - only half a year, nothing compared to the 30 odd years of Erlestoke.

Yeah, I guessed, but I couldn't resist playing along :D

I see at the Steam Gala they are having a Triple Headed Manor train Saturday evening. I want to go see it, but alas that's key feeding/bathing/sleeping child time. Urgh, have to see if I can get my evening pass signed :ROFLMAO:.

Being National Classic Car` Drive It Day` today it would have been rude not take the Vette out for a spin , so when old friends from the Jaguar Drivers Club invited my wife and I to join them and other local JDC members on a dive out it was to good to miss . We all met up at the Milton Keynes Museum which despite being only 13 miles from home , we had never visited and had little knowledge of . Then it was a drive in convoy across Milton Keynes for a superb Sunday lunch at the Carrington Arms in the village of Mulsoe which just happened to have the venue for the CCCUK monthly brunch meets I organised when I was BBNC region rep.
The museum is of great interest and full of artifacts , replica street scenes with shops and archeology all with connections to the history of the Milton Keynes area before the new build city swallowed it all up . Plenty of transport related exhibits and needless to say I soon spotted the full size replica of a London & North Western Railway ` Bloomer ` locomotive that was built at the once huge Wolverton Railway Works nearby in 1862 . Plus a rare Wolverton & Stony Stratford steam tram that was the last working steam tram in the country . So much to see so will definitely have a re visit . It is even home the famous Milton Keynes concrete cows that were constructed in park land in the early days of the city development and are now out to pasture in the museum grounds !DSC_6722.JPGDSC_6721.JPGDSC_6719.JPGDSC_6717.JPGDSC_6723.JPGDSC_6725.JPGDSC_6733.JPGDSC_6732.JPGDSC_6730.JPGDSC_6729.JPG

Like Chuffer, I too took my C3 out for National Classic Car Drive It Day - took the child out to Devon Railway Centre near Tiverton again for more fun on the trains, model villages, model railways, and kids play areas. He naturally loved it, and the other families there turning up in "normal" family cars (sadly SUVs nowadays) commented positively on my interesting choice of family car.

Once again, child fell asleep in the Corvette on the way home - its his normal time for a sleep, and he was so knackered after the day's fun that he pretty much fell asleep a few moments after we left the carpark and stayed asleep until we got home (about 30 mins drive along country roads).

Not today but arrived home last night having completed the NC500 which was actually NC1750 all in. Not a drop of rain the entire trip but glorious sunshine throughout. A few casualties including a small bump in my C8 when a woman decided to take the next exit off a roundabout and ran into me. A Ferrari died on day one with a fuel pump issue. Two Astons had bad fuel issues from the same garage. C6 Corvette had a coolant temp issue that was quickly resolved by yanking fuses and some old geezer ran into a Porsche parked up in a car park. My C8 Stingray and a new C8 Z more than held their own amongst the Astons, Porsches and McLaren. Amazing trip that I would highly recommend but don't expect 8 days of cracking weather as that will likely never happen again  Going to pull some pics off the PDR which ran for the entire trip and yes there was lots of 'spirited' driving behind the pace car 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
