Irrespective of whatever action you may take that's within the law the car community needs to make sure that Simmonds name and what he has done is circulated. Can't see why a 'group' complaint from yourself and other affected people to (hopefully) an understanding local MP about the total lack of information or feedback from the police might prompt some assistance from the police.
You took the words right out my mouth Roscbbc . (y)
Oh yes, he certainly does. My courses of action will be within the bounds of the law and I''ll examine options when we 've done the assessment.

I do hope someone who is less bothered about the law than I provides Simmons with his just deserts though. :)
Unfortunately my good old East End buddies who were the real deal `heavies ` are no longer with us . They would a job on him on the QT and no questions asked ! Get my drift ? Boy did we get into some bundles back in the 80`s when they helped me out as Doormen ( aka Bouncers ) at my Rugby Club disco`s . ;)

Wow, you must have had a rough crew at your rugby venue.

I have fond recollections of after match drinks at Old Dartfordians. Never any serious trouble there, apart from the terrible singing! :)

Lots of fond memories for me too after 17 years in the front row . The best years of my life and would do it all again tomorrow if I could , despite the injuries and a knackered but partly rebuilt body as result . The Northampton Mens Own RFC was not a rough club , in fact one of the top local clubs in its hayday . We could regularly field six teams on Saturdays if you included the Colts XV and the Vets XV .
The only trouble was at the Sunday night Discos that me and my team mate and old school chum ` Twisty ` ran every week . It was a really good earner for the club and was packed to capacity most weeks .We had our own resident DJ who was my Scrum Half and did it semi pro but we got him for free of course . Like all Scrum Halves he was full of the `gab` course and made a perfect DJ  .The 1980`s era young crowd came from miles around as it was the hot place be . Being a newly single testosterone fueled guy on the door was great fun with all the girlies ! :p Any trouble was usually minor alcohol fueled scuffles that were quickly dealt with but on occasion it turned at bit naughty when things escalated to little turf wars between lads from local villages that carried over to the follwing week if they came mob handed . Thats when my two guys earned their nights pay . They were both professionals , one was a real animal of a retired pro boxer and the other managed a night club in Northampton . They were real Diamond Geezeers that would be your friend for life , or your enemy depending on if you got on with them or not . Not naming names to protect the innocent or the guilty , but the boxer thought I was the animal for playing rugby and the other was the brother of a 1966 England Football World Cup Winning player and was father of a Northampton Saints and England Rugby International winger who I knew from being a toddler . ( makes me feel old ) Go figure the name eh ???

Or Marstons Pedigree .🍻
In my playing days we hosted a Canadian RFC touring team . They were all built like brick out houses and gave us a really hard time on the pitch but turned into a bunch of pansies in the bar afterwards . They did nothing but whinge about our English warm beer instead of bottles of ice cold Budweiser . After a few pints of good old room temperature Pedigree they were dropping like flies . :ROFLMAO:

Latest news, I had an e mail from Simmons prompted by my legal counsel I suspect, he wants to deliver my car end of next week. Needs time, apparently, as the car and associated parts are in three different locations. That's rather worrying as it was in one piece when I last saw it.

The Police don't seem to have done anything and its proving as difficult to get hold of them, for an update, as it is for Simmons. Simmons still steadfastly refuses to provide a collection address for my new restorer to pick up whatever's left of my car which is also concerning.
Hi Phild - really sorry to hear about your vehicle - I was about to drive down to JS's newer garage location today as he has been impossible to contact for a few months - he has my AMC Javelin which I have spent a huge amount of money on, a ten-year project, this is devasting news. I also need to recover my vehicle ASAP, any updates would be hugely appreciated.

Not so in my case as his invoices prove I'm in credit. I just think he's trying to remain unobtainable as there may be those that would like to pay him a visit.

I do have his personal address and mobile number which i provided to the Police although they don't seem to have acted on this. If anyone would like Simmons details then please message me. They were obtained via a solicitor so available in the public domain, if you know where to look, therefore no GDPR issues.

Really keen to retrieve my vehicle - am new to this forum but found the thread whilst trying to track down John S, same story he said he had many ' family issues' etc but that my vehicle restoration was almost complete - very keen to retrieve it ASAP, would you be happy to pass on any contact details? I am happy to post my email or other but realize this is a public forum.

My personal email is katinka.herbert@icloud.com - happy to camp outside John's door until he decides to let me know where my vehicle is stored! his address and mobile would be hugely appreciated.

Sorry to hear of another.

Sounds like you should all group together and take some legal action jointly.

When you hear stories like this , it does make you wonder who you should trust to work on your car. Me personally would never just leave a car with somebody without regular checks on progress, say every couple of weeks AND unannounced regular visits to check on work done, and would only pay once work is completed. If done in stages, once a stage is completed, I would pay up, and then the next stage could begin.
Treat everyone as a crook, and you and your possessions will always be OK

such a shame that we have to think that way. One thing I am convinced of is that there are many more good guys out there than bad.
I wonder how the guy will do the handover of Phild’s vette or whats left of it. I really dont know if i could hold my temper if for instance the new interior has been abused or ruined and if the box had been stolen and sold or used elswhere. That level of disrespect and sheer nerve would wholly justify whatever lesson the owner deemed appropriate. The sad thing is that the police wont get involved as its a civil matter but if you couldnt contain your anger and lumped him one then the police would be straight round to arrest you.
Good luck phild, I hope you get it all back and some of his stuff on top in lieu of damaged and missing parts , think tools , welders, compressors any snap on tools and cabinets , when he bleats to the police , you say it was all agreed between you and him so its a civil matter now 👍.

I would take an iron bar to him big time and to hell the police . I couldn`t live with myself not getting my pound of flesh one way or another . Our police force is about as much use as our NHS these days .

You and me both. There is NO way I would ever let him get away with doing that to my car. I’m not that sort of person.

Maybe we should all get black balaclavas and pay him a visit along with all the other car owners he has shafted . He can then either leave his house in an ambulance or a body bag , it`s all the same to me .
