Spent a great few hours at the Stony Stratford Classic meet today . An annual event in the old Buckinghamshire market town that straddles the original Watling Street . Always a huge turn out of a wide variety of cars spanning all eras and the carnival atmosphere draws big crowds that pretty much grid lock the town right to the outskirts . It was already packed out at 9am when I arrived with cars having queued to a slot since about 7.30am ! I was very lucky that a marshal squeezed the C3 in at the entrance to town centre car park and the Market Square where only pre paid show cars are displayed . The C3 was the only Corvette in town ( that I saw anyway ) so drew lots of interest for photos , questions and letting folks sit in it for photo shots . Plenty of interesting Americana there ranging from the usual Mustangs and Camaro`s to rarer metal like a DeSoto and a 1956 Imperial and an LS2 powered Buick Riviera Boat Tail .
Being `Chuffer` I just had to grab a shot of an immaculately restored BL Maestro British Rail van !
A live rock / blues band and food vendors just added to the vibe .

More Stony Classics today . The Honda Integra Type R parked in the Watling Street is outside the Cock Hotel which is just a few doors along from the Bull Hotel . Both were coaching inns in the days when the Watling Street was the major coaching route from London to the north of England and that is were the old saying " Cock and Bull stories " originates from as news and

Those were the days !Having been all alone for the past three weeks ( partner in FL/GA) I was able to watch what I want. Saw an old episode of minder and the local yobs had a beaten up white 68 Camaro. Probably worth about 10 bob at the time, complete with rust and plenty of dents.

They sure were. Once a few years old, “yanks” were a lot of flash for a little cash. The only exceptions were corvettes and to a certain extent Cadillacs due to their initial cost. Caddy’s faded after a few more years but corvettes always made good money. Run of the mill stuff were cheap and cheerful.
