As it was raining all day today, it seemed like a good time to see if I can stop the transmission oil leaking from the rear seal. With no exhaust pipes in the way (now I've got sidepipes) it was quite easy to disconnect the propshaft and undo the 4 bolts holding the extension housing. The hardest bit was wiggling it out past the propshaft.

Then I pried out the old seal and knocked the new one in. I decided not to replace the bush, as it is rather thin and I was worried I could damage the housing getting it out and also damage the new one putting it in. Plus I could only feel a tiny amount of play between the bush and the shaft and the new bush had the same amount of play.

Whilst the extension housing was off it was a good chance to take a look at my speedo drive gear, which fortunately looks very good.

Just need the rain to stop now, so I can go for a drive and see if I've actually fixed the leak.
