Being `Chuffer` I just had to grab a shot of an immaculately restored BL Maestro British Rail van !

stories were spread by word of mouth in those days and the tales grew taller as the spread up the coaching routes !That`s what it`s all about . Enjoy the miles and spread the smiles !Your C3 certainly gets about mr Chuffer.![]()
Yeah , nice to see an early un molested coke bottle Camaro .That 68 white Camaro looks nice. A blast from the past.
Those were the days !Having been all alone for the past three weeks ( partner in FL/GA) I was able to watch what I want. Saw an old episode of minder and the local yobs had a beaten up white 68 Camaro. Probably worth about 10 bob at the time, complete with rust and plenty of dents.![]()
They sure were. Once a few years old, โyanksโ were a lot of flash for a little cash. The only exceptions were corvettes and to a certain extent Cadillacs due to their initial cost. Caddyโs faded after a few more years but corvettes always made good money. Run of the mill stuff were cheap and cheerful. Those were the days !

I read that you can replace the seal and bush without removing the rear extension so had a go and , did mine in about 45 mins. Used a small air reciprocating saw to cut through the bush, halfway through the bush and the vibration of the saw sprung the bush outAs it was raining all day today, it seemed like a good time to see if I can stop the transmission oil leaking from the rear seal. With no exhaust pipes in the way (now I've got sidepipes) it was quite easy to disconnect the propshaft and undo the 4 bolts holding the extension housing. The hardest bit was wiggling it out past the propshaft.

Then I pried out the old seal and knocked the new one in. I decided not to replace the bush, as it is rather thin and I was worried I could damage the housing getting it out and also damage the new one putting it in. Plus I could only feel a tiny amount of play between the bush and the shaft and the new bush had the same amount of play.

Whilst the extension housing was off it was a good chance to take a look at my speedo drive gear, which fortunately looks very good.

Just need the rain to stop now, so I can go for a drive and see if I've actually fixed the leak.
Ah yes, M20 muncie, there was actually a notch in the casing so the saw blade is not in danger of cutting into the case. Just found bits and pieces that were the right size to tap it in, I found that an old red urethane swing axle bush from my beach buggy build fitted perfectlyโDidn't think about cutting the bush out, although I would have been scared of cutting into the housing. I'm guessing you have a different gearbox to me (TH350 auto) if you tried it in situ, as removing the housing was just undoing 4 bolts for me. What did you use to put the new bush in?
