Chevrolet O no do you mean I have got to carry on (n) well OK here goes then o_O

Hi Daytona Vette you posted (David Moore had a nice Blue C2 vert with the reg 2 FLY,) I don't think I have seen it in the flesh but in the book below.
I think it was my younger brother who is into music and cars told me it could have been owned by a Rock Star?.

Is the author known to any club members I don't recall the name, but there are some good photos of UK cars.

David had a few Vettes he told me he had in lock ups around London
2 FLY was on a blue C2 vert, I remember it from when the Nationals were held at the Beaulieu Motor Museum (mid 80s) - I may have a pic, they are all buried away - I will get my spade out.

As you know by now I like the 80/81/82 Corvette, when I saw this Red Corvette in the book I really liked it, looking at the badge it could be an 80/81 Corvette.

There must be a typo in the book page 90, the 1982 Collectors Edition is stated as a 1980 Corvette.

I really liked the 1982 Collectors Edition Corvette and would have purchased one, but when I was looking to buy a Corvette I could not afford one.

Who remembers the old Hemmings Motor News, they had brown covers and were the same size as are old telephone directories, I subscribe to it and you could always find cars like the 1982 Corvette Collectors Edition with less than 10 miles on the clock, but out of my price range landed in the UK.

Hemmings are on line - the wide body pic has an unusual hood with only one turbo vent

Hi Daytona Vette (y) I must be being stupid again I don't understand what is a Vert, I assumed you meant David Moore had a Blue C2 Corvette reg
2 FLY, which I then replied I had seen on a Red C2 Corvette in book reg 2 FLY, what am I missing, or am I loosing the plot.

(Hi Funchi the blue C2 was a Vert but the Reg 2 FLY was at one time owned by David Moore)

Chevrolet (y) it's hard to carry on if you are going to start swearing (TR7).

When I was at Leeds Castle, Motors by the Moat a few years ago I saw there was a TR7 parked backing on to the lake, if I was a little braver I should have gone across to the owner and ask if needed help to push it into the lake :) you can tell this is not a TR forum.

Don't follow why a mirror would give you the shivers, or are COMING OUT about owning a TR7 in the past.

It belonged to john Bonham who was the drummer for led zeppelin. He died in 1980 ish...

uncle albert thank you very much (y) my younger brother is into music as much as his cars, and I thought my memory was correct, the owner was a rock star.

I am not into music with so much detail, and I only vaguely remember the name John Bonham, and did not know he had died, back then I was not into rock music, I was into Motown and the sixties music.

Now just waiting for Daytona Vette to put me out of my misery

As we remember another person who has sadly passed away John Bonham, lets give it up to the lovely CCCUK member who started all this John Smith with the help of Bangers & Cash.

A 'Vert' is a Convertible Vette - hence Vert i.e VE from VEtte and RT from conveRTible = VERT - yeah, it took me a long while to suss it too.........
Did anyone realise that the filming for Bangers and Cash show is at least a year old. Was anyone aware that the car is apparently sitting in the yard of a certain Corvette 'specialist' (somewhere a couple of hundred miles north of where I'm currently 'holed-up') - following some major chassis repairs?........

Can guess where/who that is? :) Don't know if you saw the prog Ross? But, at the end the new owner says he has already broken it, and something came off in his hand (hood pull)?

Cheers Roscobbc (y) I don't recall the term Vert, more normal to me rag-top soft-top, or in Essex rip it and nick it.

Curious which model Corvette David Moore put 2 FLY on, it does not come up on the government MOT history site.

Just done a Google search the registration 2 FLY was sold at auction by an Andrew H on the 13/11/2019 for £30250.00.

I wonder if any one knows where the car is now.

I am surprised in the book by Richard Nichols The Classic Corvette published 1983 where the photo comes from, he calls it a Hardtop, sorry but back then it was called a coupe as now.

"Vert" short for "Convertible" - no you are not being stupid, it is me being lazyyyyyyyyy

I am typing this whilst being on the telephone, for two hours now trying to get a Bank to pick up - they play lovely music

OK so before I owned my first Vette there was this Mercedes Benz Dealership in the City centre of Birmingham, called Gerard Man and one day in the middle of the Showroom full of new Mercs was this chrome bumpered C3 (I think it was orange) with this massive Blower sticking out of the hood, I went in and asked the salesman, whom I knew as to why the Vette was there in the Merc showroom - It was John Bonham's and on show as an attraction and apparently John Bonham was a customer and often went in and bought a Merc for himself and often a couple for his family.

Now the Blower was taken off one of John's other toys, his "C" Cab built by the infamous Andy Brizio, the "C" Cab was called Andy's instant "T", now my mate Bruce of 50 years and CCCUK member bought it many many years ago, installed another lump out of a famous muscle car and topped it with a blower back to better than when Bonham owned it - The "C" Cab has never really turned a wheel since Bruce purchased it and lives in a Bubble and at the moment is subject to sale to a guy in Australia

The "C" Cab was featured on one of LED ZEPLIN's Album Covers

Bruce also owns a Garden Nursery hence the back drop of the rolls of turf.

I intend to do an article in the CCCUK Mag on this Rod, now inspired by you - so Funchi you are going to have to join to read the mag - WE WANT VETTE HEADS LIKE YOU !

No there is only one - I tried to press for "Full Image" it did not do what I thought, so I just got finger happy.
Actually Andy Brizio did build a Sister to the "C" Cab, but that is another story all together (Oh and Jeff Beck whom has also been mentioned in this astro thread has also commissioned Andiy Brizio to build some of his Hot Rods)
