Its time for my insurance renewal and was wondering what company's others are using.Thanks.

Adrian Flux were the most competitive when I insured my C3 last January. I'm an old fart with 9 points on his license, two recent accidents (one my fault) and 5 other cars. Mileage limited to 1000 pa and it cost £128.40 with no NCB. Haven't had to claim on them yet so I can't comment on their service.

Hi.
Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you wish. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.

Try the comparison sites first.
You may be surprised how cheap the quotes are. LV seem to be American car friendly at the moment with several of my friends with them including myself, C7 Corvette Gen 6 Camaros all listed on the sites Go Compare, Compare the Meercat ect.

Good advice for newer cars. I'm with LV.

We used to be with Direct Line for the C6, but now we've gone over to Admiral with a multi-car policy. (Fully comp with protected no claims is less than £300 for the C6). The C2 is still with Footman James (on another multi policy)

If it matters to you who repairs your car in the event of damage, you need to ask the question, I elected not to use a certain windscreen company (also due to previous family and colleague experiences) and the Insurance company would only contribute £120 towards a £1000 cost at the Dealers - That was Hastings Direct, backed by Covea
I recently found out that a certain business premise of mine also has the insurance backed by Covea, I am still waiting for completion of repairs following a break in last February
If it matters - always check on the financial parameters involved (if any) in electing to use your preferred repairer and get it confirmed in writing - you would not want your new Mclaren in any repair shop.

I apologise Rich, I was misguided in my thinking as I knew it to be true and could be verified by factual evidence - In short I was wrong to include a Brand name, I shall precis below.

Insurance - When taking out a Policy - If you care about who or where your car is repaired after the event of incurred damage, check the small print and get your interpretation of the particular point in question confirmed in writing, my windscreen was ambiguously covered with the normal nominal excess cost, but when I told the Insurance that my windscreen was going to be replaced by the Dealer and not their choice of repairer (someone known to me to have a bad reputation), they only offered £120 against a cost of almost £1k from the dealer. where my car was purchased and always serviced - my windscreen replacement involved rain sensors and possibility of disruption to the air bags in the windscreen pillars.

Sorry Rich. I posted a factual opinion that cost me a significant amount of money. I did not want others to fall into the same trap.

Admiral Multi-car policy for me on the C7 and daily driver, after having been with Aviva multi-car for the C6 and daily driver. Changed over when Admiral were cheaper on renewal a couple of years back. At that time, Defaqto rated the Admiral policy as 3 star (Aviva 5 star). Pleased to see that currently the Admiral policy is now rated as 5 star :

Did try and get a quote for the C7 on the LV website a couple of months ago, but it told me they wouldn't insure it. One of the other club members said I should have phoned them up to get a quote.

Have to say what a minefield this is, can not understand why some insurance companies claiming they are american specialist insurers advertise in certain club mags as when phoned they are useless they are double and sometimes triple the price of so called non specialist american car insurers.Spent a day on the phone that was a total waste of time some even ask if it's a diesel then others will only insure a certain year and model , if its an older corvette it seems no problem.

Update on my insurance, i was with Liverpool Victoria but when the renewal came through they had missed off that the car was the Z06 model, so i looked online and they showed they would cover it but only if it was a 2016 model (mine is a 2015), i then phoned them up and was told sorry we only cover the 2016 model even though i said its the same car only a year older ,no sorry we don't cover that year only 2016 year. Now lots of phone calls later to other insurance company's i have managed to cover it with Brentacre Insurance brokers who were very good and at a fair price, i wont name all the others but lets just say some were ok to good to deal with and others were what can only be described as useless . I have just phoned LV to cancel my renewal, then went through my previous ordeal with them and told them that they could be losing customers through their blinkered structure of only insuring one year on their website for the C7 Z06, the lady on the phone could not understand it either , how can they insure it for one year but not the next even though they had sent out the renewal documents and would take the money automatically for it ,my advise check your renewal documents carefully it could mean you would not be covered in the event of an accident.

Quote "they had missed off that the car was the Z06 model "
The exact spec on a car is so important when insuring a car - many years ago, I had a battle with an Insurance company that did not want to pay out on my son's BMW because of the question of whether it was an SE model or not, I do not remember the exact details now, we had told them correctly over the phone when taking out the cover, as they found when listening to the tape, but the question of whether it was a 316I or 316I SE was a contentious one and raised the issue of whether they would pay out or not.

Yes Monty, Corvettes being such a specialist/rare car in the UK, sometimes interesting/confusing what data/descriptions insurers (and others) have/don't have on there database(s) for them. Remember phoning Aviva for a C6 quote a few years back, and the guy was asking is it a "Stratstone" C6 Corvette? Is your 2015 Z06 a US import/Were LV aware of that? If so (guessing here) maybe LV "start" at 2016, if that's the first year UK spec/Ian Allan supplied Z06s were sold? But why no subsequent years?

Coincidentally (?) if you log onto Parkers guide and try and get a valuation for a base (non Z06) C7 Stingray , it will give you valuations for 2014-2016 (16 plate) cars, but not for cars after 2016/16 plate.

Yes they were aware of it being an import as it is insured with them already, don't know why it's only that one year (2016) that they have chosen either, but hey insured now with another company with all the correct details down on the policy. Just for info the guy who had it before me was paying £300 a month he was half my age though.

Well, just as a matter of interest for the next renewal, I phoned LV today to ask if they would insure (& what years) a "base" (non GS/Z06) C7. Answer was they won't insure it at all/any year. Asked what year Camaro they would insure and answer was "2016 only."
