ChodoshI think Bernie Codash is making them.
Quite a few faux L88 hoods have been around over the years, and yes some are too tall - longer ones are available for later non-windscreen wiper flap cars. Irrespective of the additional height I still had to use a shallower air filter element!I think they are a little too tall. They do look mean tho

Agreed. I couldn't use GM drop-base (which is the deepest) owing to accelerator bracket/linkage issues.A dropped filter base usually lets you use the taller filter
I carefully fitted the oem trim and 427 numbers on to the repro hood. Not sure if stock L88 hood features any bright trim. Without the stock hoods centre divider you'll notice the chrome trim pieces don't quite join in the centre.Quite a few faux L88 hoods have been around over the years, and yes some are too tall - longer ones are available for later non-windscreen wiper flap cars. Bought a fake one from Ripspeed in 1977 and fitted it to a friends capri. Looked pretty good once finished.Quite a few faux L88 hoods have been around over the years, and yes some are too tall - longer ones are available for later non-windscreen wiper flap cars. Don't care for the headlightsThis is the Duntov Corvette Turbo. Quite a rare car. Saw one once at the Ecklers annual corvette show at Titusville.View attachment 34250
Me neither. Always thought the C3’s flip up headlights were great. Never liked tha various other open headlight variations that were done either.Don't care for the headlights
Preserving unique and advanced features (for the day) certainly means keeping fibre optic 'tell-tale' systems monitoring lights and indicators. plus flip-up headlights, and wiper flap (on earlier C3's) and also where applicable removable rear cabin window.Me neither. A lot of the “advanced/gimmicky features put onto the all new C3 corvette did prove problematic for owners, by 1973 I think they were all gone. The troublesome wiper door was replaced with a new longer hood that hid the wipers. I personally like it better.Preserving unique and advanced features (for the day) certainly means keeping fibre optic 'tell-tale' systems monitoring lights and indicators. plus flip-up headlights, and wiper flap (on earlier C3's) and also where applicable removable rear cabin window.
