If your a Cadillac fan, watch the film Tin Men. It’s set in Baltimore in about 1964, and it’s about Aluminium siding salesmen (Tin Men) and all Tin men drive Cadillac’s. They range in years from 1957 to Richard Dryfuss’s new 1964. Great film for old caddy’s

Never liked the side trim on the 59 fleetwood. The 59 Eldorado is one of THE cars of the fifties, the other for some reason is the 57 Bel Air. The Eldorado I can understand. It was Cadillacs flagship car and with those tail fins soo outrageous. Also the price was horrendous. The Bel Air on the other hand was a 200k plus model year production cheap and cheerful everyday car for the masses. Go figure. 🤔

I always thought that the '60 had nicer lines

But a '61 has a nice rear window line

But the sedan had a cool wrap around rear window

And a '62 has a look all of its own

As does a '63

'64 and things are perhaps getting a bit 'samey'

Love all in the pictures. I do agree that the 1960 in my opinion is a better looking car than the now iconic 1959.
Remember the series B L Stryker starring BurtReynolds. Set in south Florida he had a white 1960 convertible in white. Not a trailer queen but nice, always needed something doing to it.

The tail fins are just too small for me on the 60, 63 and 64 and the tail lights are too flat. Love the others especially the spaceship design of the kick panels on the 61 and 62.

What’s not to like about the 1960 rear fins? Of course 1959 saw the largest fins , and they were becoming a thing of the past. Times/styles were a changing

Gonna say this with 'tongue in cheek' - I think the '60 CDV is the most stylish, best proportioned and balanced car from the fins 'n' chrome era. I'm gonna say 'restrained' too - it just has the very best lines of any car IMHO of the period and looks sensational in bright metallic shades.

58 bonneville. Does anyone know the other car which had a plane on the side instead of a rocket and I think had stars in the trim?

1958 was THE year for chrome. If a manufacturer could chrome something they did. The more chrome the better.
Even the 58 Corvette got in on the act with its twin chrome trunk spears.

That is one beautiful car, love the Color, and it’s probably just as lovely inside. Saying that, it should be. In 1960 it cost the equivalent of a house in some states. It was a car for the very wealthy when new, by about 66 when fins were long gone it could be bought for a cup of tea.

And......amazingly the general 'mindset' with most people was that they were horrible atrocities that no one wanted. Didn't they drive fantastic though if looked after properly.....and some of the optional interior fabrics were such high quality.
