Yes indeed. A very nice metallic bronze sold at auction last month for just under £4k incl buyers premium. Tempting...... but would have been a distraction to the main event so resisted.

I seem to remember Vauxhall done the same car as a Royale. That was also nice, but the Monza was nicer.

We had a Royale for a few months - nice car - 2.8 ltr 6 banger - the standard of interior build and trim was something I doubt if Vauxhall could have produced. Guess the car was 8 or 10 years old. Royale was a 4 door sedan with a Solex carb as I recall........and that was its let-down. The carb was worn-out - seem to remember that a replacement carb would have been more than the car was worth (or cost for that matter) sold, post-haste!

Here’s the front view, this one’s a 1982

they were a real nice all round car. Available in sedan or coupe.

Absolutely beautiful. You’re got to love those skegs
And it’s a convertible. The 1961-64 Cadillacs are lovely cars.

It would be nice to drive a classic on america roads with stunning views. Some more I can think of is the road to the timberline hotel that has the view of the mountain and the state of maine in the autumn looks stunning. If I was rich without a care in the world I'd be off doing it right now but you can't have everything in life I guess.

That’s something many Americans do when they retire. Get a motor home and see their own country. I know people who have never been outside of Florida. That’s real sad. America is such a vast country and every state is different.

James,
you are correct as to what Oregon (better say it though as Oregun or they will get mad at you) has to offer in the wild but
I spent 20 years in central Oregon and had to move out of that state 14 months ago

8 months of the year the weather is less than 60 F degrees, in the 15-20 deg range at night, 2 months a year over 90 F deg, and less than 2 months when it is nice around 70 deg.
It is a state that loves joey biden and gang, hates to work and too lazy to rid snow and ice off public roads or highways, many no speakie English

But as you mention, there are a lot of cool places to see in the USA

Back in the late 1970s I took a job most would not do
I worked for a company that took a contract that a group called WBC (Western Bank Corp) had 900 banks in 12 western states
We had to go to every one of them and install the first computer systems to each teller positions and management desks

I can tell you that 95 percent of bank workers are women, and they loved when a guy visitor would only be there 1 or 2 days,
so my nights were as busy as the days :)

Anyhow, I drove throughout all the 12 states and there is a ton of great roads, mountains and old west history still there to see.
From Pikes Peak, to lost Dutchman's mine, to Grand Canyon to the casinos in Nevada to Native Americans towns

It would take a lifetime to travel through all of the USA and never see it all

Bad thing was got caught in 2 banks that got robbed while I was in them, one was a take-over and cops blasted the 2 guys.

Some years ago I drove the PCH from San Francisco to San Diego - taking in the Pebble Beach Concours on the way. Then moved inland to drive Death Valley (127° F 🥵!) and on the way stopped to take this shot......

...of the Sierra Nevadas. Very corny I know but the view was just asking to be taken.🤩

@antijam that's breathtaking. Any particular car or just a typical rental?

Some landscapes are so breathtaking that it's hard to believe what you're looking at.

Sadly just a rental James; the car started missing a beat every now and then in Death Valley so I turned off the A/C to reduce the load - not for very long though!
