Did you pull the headlight support bar from the fibreglass? I know they rust and the rivets start popping through the paint but not sure if it's worth pulling mine or not

I’ve got a new front end and new bar. The old one doesn’t look too bad. The new one is that later type that was only glued.

Is it just sitting in position or have you glued it in? Either way, how are you planning to fix it? Are you going to use damming tape? What glue?
Looks good.

It’s just sitting there. Won’t go in till after paint.

Absolutely no idea yet how I’m fitting it!

Had a look at the wiper motor today. Would hardly move under power. So disassembled and cleaned the dried grease and working again.

But only one speed. Disassembled again and found this connection had lost its insulating tape.

Hey presto, now have two speeds and the washer puffs air too. Haven’t tried it with water yet.

I spotted the Scat crankshaft box on another post! Is that forged? I like the look of the light weight flywheel too. Are there restrictions on what you can do with the engine spec?

Yes forged crank, standard stroke so with the overbore that’s allowed it’ll be a 355cui.

Flywheel is a light one. Couldn’t find evidence of a small block using a twin plate clutch in period, although the big blocks did, so went with a single plate. Plus they’re not as sensitive to being cooked when manoeuvring as the little sintered ones.

Engine wise needs to be period correct and tie in with the homologation so iron head and block.

I dropped the crank and stuff off to be balanced today.
