Check cam timing, when it seems a long way out it’s probably because a muppet is measuring the exhaust lobe rather than inlet. Reset and 2 degrees advanced.

Knocked the sprocket round to -2 and started again. 0.5 degree retarded. Jobs a good un.

What Cam have you put in?

Sorry top secret, but it’s a full race cam so not really much cop on the road.

Didn’t like the timing chain to block clearance so removed the sprocket and masked everything and ground.

And check pushrod length, the current ones are too long so cut and shut one to get the required length to test and will order some in the week.

This seems like an interesting set of magazine articles for Vette News. I am sure Mark Eaton would love to work with you on doing something for fellow club members 👍

Inlet on, rocker covers on. Fluffed putting two front oil seals into the timing cover, no idea why, never done that before. Another one ordered.

Me thinks it is going to be noisy in there, ah! but what a sound!

With racecars it’s usually transmission noise but we’ll see. I’ve got an old but unused rally car intercom which I’m going to put in.

After making the mistake many years ago of putting stuff in the passenger seat area on the mini I’m fitting two seats from the off with this.

Have you got the pedal box and brake booster in yet? If not, it looks like the roll cage will make an uncomfortable job even less comfortable! Seat mounts look nice and shiny :)

Yep they’re all in. I’ve actually managed to get the booster and pedals out and back in again in about half an hour.

Shiny stuff will end up painted black I think.
