With the ever increasing 'dearth' of suitable 15" diameter tyres for our cars (except American branded and Chinese manufactured tyres) There are no European or Japanese 'performance' tyres available any more.......just commercial/van sized/rated tyres available.
For those who do chose to upgrade to larger diameter plain sidewall tyres (and don't scrape kerbs too often) there are dress-up kits that allow you multi-colour fill-in options for your tyre lettering.

One of the things I hate is dirty whitewalls or white letters on tyres. So easy to rectify with a Brillo pad. Yes, I’ve used the specialised cleaners but always found a good ole Brillo pad works best.
See many a spotless car at a show , lovely clean wheels, dirty letters or whitewalls.
