C3 Race Car Build

Presumably it's slightly more than just a bit of bent metal, otherwise I imagine you would make one yourself.

I think it’s got a d shape both sides and the seal clips into it without screws but not 100% sure, what was yours like?

On mine the seal has little plastic pins that push into holes in the t-top around 3 sides. The 4th side is the outer side edge and here the seal is screwed into the stainless steel trim piece that runs down the edge of the t-top. There is a metal strip moulded into the seal down this side, but no separate bit of metal.

had to take the exhaust off to bend the brackets as it wasn’t clearing the doors

drivers side manifold won’t go in past the steering baseplate so had to take that off

alternator on but with the higher rocker covers its right at the end of the adjustment, not sure about that

Checked hood clearance to the air filter. Surprisingly even with a SBC and L88 hood there’s no space for a spacer on top of the Victor Jr intake

Can you get a drop base on for the air filter? I don't have a L88 hood on mine (but do have the other hood that is slightly taller), and I have an SBC with Edelbrock dual plane manifold, carb and 14 inch air filter, and a 0.3 inch heat insulator spacer - but on a drop base. All fits (just) under my hood.

Also, what are two holes for on both sides on the wings near the windscreen ends?

It has got a bit of a drop base. Not usually much need for an insulator on a race car, the Victor Jr is supposed to flow a bit better in the mid range with a 2” spacer.

Holes are for the pull cables for extinguisher and battery cut off.

Ah, nice one. Your C3's paintwork and bodywork looks so much better than mine. Seems a shame to race yours with it looking so much better than my, coincidentally also blue, C3.
